Motivation Monday: My first NPC Competition

I attended my first NPC Figure Competitions on Friday. I was getting really discouraged about competing and it being my first time and all. I really needed this.

Things I Learned:

  • A lot of people lose weight the unhealthy way, they have a dull look to them. I don’t want to be like this, I want to still have a glow.
  • TAN TAN TAN is a must, and it has to be right. I saw a lot of orange people.
  • Have a cute suit. I saw a lot of pretty ones.
  • The girls are soooooo thin. I’m pretty sure I won’t place in my first competition, but I’m doing it for the experience anyway.
  • The competitions are LONG! It was supposed to start at 7:30, it actually started closer to 8:30. I was there until 11 and I didn’t even make it through the whole pre-judging.
  • Personality and stage presence is everything. The people who stood out were attractive, had nice bodies, and flirted with the judges and audience.

August Progress/September Goals

I lost 3 pounds and I reached my goal of working out at least 20 times for the month. I am losing inches so I am satisfied about not reaching my goal of losing 10 lbs. My sister lost 10 pounds this month though, so I’m happy for her.

Goals for August 2012

  1. Workout 20 times for the month (DONE!)
  2. Lose 10 pounds (as of September 1 my weight is 186)
  3. Have ONE cheat day a week (this did not happen lol)
  4. Help my sister lose 10 pounds (Done!)

Thrifty Thursday via Glitter and Glue

I have been building up my DIY blog following over the last few days. One of my new favorites is Glitter and Glue. Kristen’s blog is youg and fun and the projects are easy. Today I wanted to share her tutorial for
her DIY Chanel Inspired Transparent Bag. I think it’s really cute and as soon as I get some free time I will trying it. Please check out this tutorial and the many others she has.

WOD Wednesday: Fitorbit Super Day

Hey guys….I must admit, I haven’t been to the gym since Sunday. So, today I’m making up for the workouts I planned to do the last two days. I had legs, chest, arms, and back to complete, so I’ll be spending most of my night at the gym. Wish me luck! Here’s my proposed workout from my Fitorbit trainer.

  • 90 minutes of cardio (to make up for yesterday and today) I decided to split it up and do 67 minutes today and tomorrow.
  • 30 seconds of jump squats
  • Lunges 3X15 20 lbs
  • Squats 3X20 30 lbs
  • Side Lunges 3X20
  • Walking Pushups 3X16
  • Plank with Extensions 3X30
  • Chest Press 3X50 25 lbs
  • Table Top Plank 3X30
  • Yikes! I’ll let you know how I’m feeling tomorrow because I know I’m going to be sore 🙂

Fitorbit Trial: Online Personal Training

Today is the first day of my Fitorbit Personal Training. It’s an online based training. You get matched to a Fitorbit training expert based on your personality and goals. Your trainer will work with you to create an interactive fitness plan filled with personalized workouts and meals that easily fit into your busy schedule. Your trainer will monitor your progress, answer any questions that come up during the day, and give you motivation and feedback to help you stay on track to slim down and tighten up.

I chose to go with a woman who seems likes she’s on it when it comes to fitness and body building, which is what I want to achieve. Her name is Terri West (in the picture). She shot me over a plan yesterday, and I am currently following it somewhat (I haven’t gone shopping for the week yet, I will tonight). I will also try out her workouts, and today’s it back and chest, which I am excited about. I don’t like the fact that it doesn’t seem very personalized at all, it seems computer generated. However, I will try it and see how things go. My trial ends September 4th, so if I lose the last 7 pounds in my goal, I’ll be happy. If she can motivate me after that time period, I may try it for a few more months. We will see 🙂

I am also doing a 30 day plank challenge. It started yesterday and everyday I hold my plank for a little longer. On day 30 I would like to be at 2 minutes. I am currently at 1:02.1 Wish me luck!
