The run begins at dusk and ends under a full moon. Participants may register as either a Vampire or Citizen. Citizens in all white start in one location, Vampires in black in another. The paths converge at an unknown location and then the hunt is on! Vampires will try to “convert” citizens by pulling both white garlic flags they will be carrying while running through fog and red powder zones. Participants will then “celebrate eternity” in the post-run Red Dusk after-party with music, red colored beverages, fun awards, and make-up artists on-hand ready to “transform” any willing citizens into new Vampires. The V5K benefits Red Cross blood donation services and local blood banks. Dallas, Denver, LA, DC and Atlanta. Find your city and register now for $10 off with the code: VAMPRUN at: www.vampire5k.com
In honor of the 5k I will be giving away free entry to one of my readers. All you have to do is reply back to this post and answer this question: “If a zombie apocalypse was happening, what would you do?”
Contest ends March 10th. I will chose the answer I like best and contact you about your comp entry. Good luck!

Today’s workout comes from my Spartan Race WOD Newsletter that I get each day in preparation for the event. Although I probably won’t be participating (it’s really intense) I like to do some of the workouts sometime. Because of the weather, I won’t be going to the gym today, so I will be completing my workout from home and maybe throw in a 30 minute run. Enjoy!
Warm up: Jump rope 10 minutes
30 Jumping Lunges
2 Minute Plank
30 Tricep Dips
30 Bodyweight Squats
2 Minute Plank
Cool down: Stretch

Lets see: 2 girls, $33. How did we do so far? Well, actually, it hasn’t been that bad, just a lot of leftovers. Could I do this forever? Yep! Is it easy? No. Mainly, it requires a lot of thought and planning. I like it though, it caused me to get creative with my cooking and meal planning this week. When I restock on Saturday I will have to get staples like milk, eggs, and peanut butter. This week really helped me realize just how much money I waste on junk and fast food. Because of this, I am going to give it up for the month of August as well. I mean, I very rarely eat it now, (maybe 2-3 times a month) but I want to go cold turkey and clean up my eating habits a bit more. I will do another post Saturday as my official wrap up to week 1 of my #surviveon35.

So today was my first time ever going to the local farmers market. The last time I went to one, I was 11, living in Detroit. It was cool seeing all the different people, and all the food from all over the world. I will be back 🙂
Dekalb Farmers Market
Bunch of carrots
A lot of celery
4 ears of corn
3 lbs of cabbage
1 green pepper
Head of Lettuce
1 lb of chuck beef
1.5 lbs of apples
2.5 lbs of organic bananas
1 lb tomato
Kroger brand raisin bran
Corned beef hash
2.5 lbs of chicken breast
Total: 11.95 at Kroger +21.44 at the Farmers Market= 33.39
So I went over my budget. I will just have to cut some things next week. I also learned that while some things are worth going to the farmers market for, the grocery store is still a good place to go. I probably could have saved a bit more if I had researched sales first.
In terms of planning my meals for the next week, I am also in the process of moving next weekend, so I want to leave here with my kitchen cabinets bare. I will post my meals each day.
Bacon, Eggs, hash browns, and whole wheat waffles with syrup
BLT on wheat with mayo
Baked Potato with sour cream and onion
Protein powder and milk
