The Vampire 5K…..5 Cities, one night…….which side will you choose?

logo-full-hires

The run begins at dusk and ends under a full moon. Participants may register as either a Vampire or Citizen. Citizens in all white start in one location, Vampires in black in another. The paths converge at an unknown location and then the hunt is on! Vampires will try to “convert” citizens by pulling both white garlic flags they will be carrying while running through fog and red powder zones. Participants will then “celebrate eternity” in the post-run Red Dusk after-party with music, red colored beverages, fun awards, and make-up artists on-hand ready to “transform” any willing citizens into new Vampires. The V5K benefits Red Cross blood donation services and local blood banks. Dallas, Denver, LA, DC and Atlanta. Find your city and register now for $10 off with the code: VAMPRUN at: www.vampire5k.com

Fitness Friday: Firefly Run

I am entering the Firefly Run here in Atlanta! I was browsing runs yesterday online, and came across this one. I thought it looked really fun and cool and I am so excited about it. I have to find a cool light-up and/or glow outfit to wear!  Although I do cardio, I don’t really run as much as I would like to, I am going to dive back into the Couch to 5K running plan in time for the run, and hopefully it will help me be able to complete it without walking….much.

Check out the video and let me know what you think!

Home Bootcamp

20120802-212148.jpgMy sister participated in my home bootcamp that I set up yesterday. We live next to a steep hill so it was perfect for some HIIT. It was great to get her moving. She was beat afterward 🙂 We did 4 sets of each: 10 pushups, 15 squats, 25 crunches, 30-second plank and a sprint down and up the hill. It took about 30 minutes and was a pretty good workout.
